You might think that this is a typical YA novel, but it is anything but that.
This was such an interesting read and it was also very cute. 

I loved the fact that I got to learn about such an unknown social anxiety disorder and how people, both the ones who suffer from that disorder and those around them, deal with such an invisible illness.
It was a lovely read for the summer, you know the kind of book you can read at the beach or on the side of the pool. The writing is very easy to read, I  love the way the author portrayed the thoughts of someone who couldn't "physically" talk.
The story was so intriguing and so interesting and because of that, from the moment I started reading, I couldn't stop. This book is well written and consistently fills you with the desire for the book to never end.
The romance in this book was so cute and I felt as though the characters were really well developed. Yes, I know this may appear like your typical "popular boy and quiet girl" couple but if you read the book you're gonna see that it's so much more than that. I especially loved the fact that he didn't put pressure on Piper to use her voice, he accepted her as she is.
I was getting worried towards the end of the book, I thought I'd be crying by the end of the book because I thought it will be a sad ending... but I'm so glad that didn't happen! 

I'm not gonna lie it kind of made me want to travel to Australia and discover the beautiful landscapes.

Vous pourriez penser que c'est un roman typique de YA, mais c'est tout sauf cela.
C'était une lecture tellement intéressante et mignonne. 

J'ai adoré le fait  que ce livre m'a donné l'opportunité d'apprendre l'existence d'un trouble d'anxiété sociale dont j'ignorai totalement l'existence. J'ai trouvé particulièrement intéressant comment l'auteur met en avant les fait  que ce genre de trouble n'affecte pas que le "malade" mais  aussi ceux qui les entourent, et comment ils font face à une maladie aussi invisible que le mutisme.
Selon moi c'est une lecture parfaite pour l'été, vous savez le genre de livre que vous pouvez lire à la plage ou au bord de la piscine. La manière dont cela est écrit rend l'histoire  très facile à lire, j'aime la façon dont l'auteure décrit les pensées de quelqu'un qui ne peut pas parler "physiquement".
L'histoire était si intrigante et si intéressante qu'à partir du moment où j'ai commencé à lire, je n'ai pas pu m'arrêter. 
La romance dans ce livre est tellement mignonne et les personnages sont tellement bien développés, qu'il est très facile de s'y attacher. 
Oui, je sais que cela peut ressembler au couple typique que l'on trouve dans les bouquins pour ados, avec "le garçon populaire et de fille toute timide" mais si vous lisez le livre, vous verrez que c'est bien plus que cela. J'ai particulièrement aimé le fait que West n'ait pas mis la pression à Piper d'utiliser sa voix, il l'a acceptée telle qu'elle est.
Je commençais à m'inquiéter vers la fin du livre, je pensais que je pleurerais car je voyais pas comment une fin autre qu'une fin triste pourrait arriver ... mais heureusement un petit "cliffhanger" permet au livre de se terminer sur une fin assez joyeuse... Oui, je spoil...!

Je ne vais pas mentir, ce bouquin m'a donné envie de voyager en Australie et de découvrir les magnifiques paysages que l'on peut y trouver.

Do you want to read a book about strong Vikings and Celtic folklore? This book is for you! 

This is classified as a YA story but in my humble opinion, it reads a bit older. I mean, there are a lot of dark things happening in this book, such as rape threats, physical abuses, slavery, murders (gore). So, be aware of that while diving into this tale.
That been said, don't worry there are a lot more things going on in that book, other than violence and war. 
We get to see a lovely romance bloom between two characters and it's so dam cute! I would say it's a slow burn one, but I promise it's worth the wait. Enemies to lovers will forever be my favorite type of romance in YA. 
I did not expect to like this book so much at all. I love the whole Viking concept going on and the characters are all amazing. 
I believe that what makes this story special is the perspective on war that the author has.  We can see, that throughout the book, the characters are realizing that the people on the other side of the battlefield are people like them, with families and loved ones. 
 
This was the biggest surprise I have had from a book in a very long time. I loved everything from the fighting, the romance, the atmosphere.
I prefer not to say too much about this book, I find it better to go for it with your eyes closed!

Voulez-vous lire un livre sur les vikings et le  folklore celtique? Ce livre est fait pour vous!

Il  est jugé comme étant  une histoire  YA (Young adult) mais à mon humble avis, ce livre peut correspond aux goûts de lecteurs plus âgés. Je trouve que pour des lecteurs "jeunes" ce bouquin contient beaucoup de sujets sombres comme par exemple : des menaces de viol, des abus physiques, de l'esclavage, des meurtres très gores. Alors, soyez conscient de cela en plongeant dans cette histoire.
Cela dit, ne vous inquiétez pas, il y a beaucoup plus de choses et sujets dans ce livre, autres que de la violence et la guerre.
Nous pouvons voir une belle romance fleurir entre deux personnages et c'est tellement mignon! Je dirais que c'est le genre de romance qui prend du temps à se mettre en place, mais je promets que cela vaut la peine d'attendre (genre une bonne partie du livre...)  
Je ne m'attendais pas du tout à tant aimer ce livre. J'ai adoré le concept Viking et les personnages sont tous incroyables.
Je crois que ce qui rend cette histoire spéciale, c'est la perspective de la guerre qu'a l'auteure. Nous pouvons voir que tout au long du livre, les personnages se rendent compte que les gens de l'autre côté du champ de bataille sont des gens comme eux, avec des familles et des êtres chers, qu'ils ne veulent pas perdre...

 Cette magnifique histoire, fut la plus grande surprise que j'ai eue d'un livre depuis très longtemps. 
Je préfère ne pas en dire trop sur ce livre, je trouve qu'il est mieux de foncer les yeux fermés!

Let's talk about this amazing book! 

I randomly discovered this story on Scribd. I was immediately intrigued by the plot. This is a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast with a little twist to it because the female lead character has CP (cerebral palsy). I mean..., THIS BOOK WAS MADE FOR ME! 

Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale and I also happen to have CP, so heck yeah I'm gonna read this book! And without any surprise, I freaking loved it!!! 
Despite this being a really long book, I read it quite quickly because it was engaging and addictive.
The plot is quite good, the author chose to not focus the story only on the curse-breaking thing because of love, and I really appreciated that.  I think it was a refreshing take on the classic tale of the Beauty and the Beast, the fact that some politicals intrigue were put in it made it ten times better in my opinion.  But I do think that the strongest point of this book is the characters. I mean, putting 3  badass characters together can't do anything wrong to a story. 
First, let's talk about Harper. She's badass, brave and she doesn't let her disability define, I loved that she wasn't the kind of female character to be smitten, within the firsts chapters, by the beautiful prince. 
Speaking of the devil, Rhen, the Prince, he's a lovely man but he may seem arrogant at times. I wish his relationship with Harper was more developed because this is supposed to be an enemy to lover story, but romance wise ... Let's just say that we don't get a lot of that. But nonetheless, I enjoyed their interactions. 
And then we have Grey! Oh, Grey...I LOVE HIM. He's dark and mysterious but beneath it all, there is a funny, full of sarcasm young man. Grey was honestly the star of this book for me.

This was such fun to read! I was so captivated by the story! 


I really liked the fact that the chapterwere alternating between the point of view of Harper and Rhen. It really added something to the novel.
The ending freaking ruined, I didn't see that plot twist coming. After finishing the book I immediately picked up the second one because I couldn't stand not knowing what happened next to the trio.
Seriously,  go pick up this beautiful story, you will not regret it!

Parlons de ce livre incroyable!

J'ai découvert cette histoire par  hasard sur Scribd. J'ai été immédiatement intriguée par l'intrigue. Il s'agit d'un récit inspiré de la Belle et de la Bête, avec un petit plot twist car le personnage principal féminin a CP (paralysie cérébrale). Je veux dire ..., CE LIVRE A ÉTÉ ECRIT POUR MOI!

La Belle et la Bête est mon conte de fées préféré et il se trouve que j'ai aussi CP, alors c'était évident j'allais lire ce livre! Et sans surprise, j'ai adoré ça !!!
Bien que ce soit un très long livre, je l'ai lu assez rapidement car il était engageant et addictif.
L'intrigue est assez bonne, l'auteure a choisi de ne pas concentrer l'histoire uniquement sur le fait que la malédiction doit être brisée, et j'ai vraiment apprécié cela. Je pense que c'était une version rafraîchissante du conte classique de la Belle et la Bête, le fait que des intrigues politiques y aient été ajoutées, apporte un gros plus à l'histoire. Mais je pense que le point fort de ce livre, ce sont les personnages. Je veux dire, mettre ensemble 3 personnages badass ne peut faire aucun mal à une histoire.

Parlons d'abord de Harper. Elle est une dure à cuire, une jeune femme courageuse et elle ne laisse pas son handicap la définir, j'ai adoré qu'elle ne soit pas le genre de personnage féminin "demoiselle en détresse" que le prince doit absolument aider. 
En parlant du diable, Rhen, le prince, c'est un homme adorable mais il peut parfois sembler très arrogant. J'aurais aimé que sa relation avec Harper soit plus développée parce que c'est censé être une histoire "enemies to lovers", mais en ce qui concerne la romance ... Disons simplement qu'il n'y en a pas beaucoup. Mais néanmoins, j'ai apprécié leurs interactions.
 Et puis nous avons Grey! Oh, Grey ... JE L'ADORE. Il est sombre et mystérieux mais sous tout cela, il y a un jeune homme drôle et plein de sarcasme. Gray était honnêtement la star de ce livre pour moi.


C'était tellement amusant à lire! J'étais tellement captivée par l'histoire! J'ai beaucoup aimé le fait que les chapitres alternent entre le point de vue de Harper et celui de  Rhen. Cela a vraiment ajouté quelque chose au roman.
La fin m'a achevée, je ne m'attendais pas à ce rebondissement. Après avoir terminé le livre, j'ai immédiatement lu le second tome.
Sérieusement, allez lire cette belle histoire, vous ne le regretterez pas!
